Dr. Reginald (Reg) W. Eldon has been in Ministry with the Methodist Church of The Bahamas for over 40 years. He retired from the Methodist Church and as Dean of Adult Education at Queen’s College, Nassau in August 2019. He works now with The One Eleuthera Foundation, a NGO based in Eleuthera, as a Consultant in Leadership Development and Education.
Reg grew up in the small settlement of The Current, Eleuthera, The Bahamas. His undergrad college experience was inBirmingham, England. Reg went to Seminary for his graduate studies at Eden Theological Seminary in St. Louis, Mo and he completed his post grad studies in Miami, Florida.
For 18 years Reg worked as the Youth Director for the Methodist Church in the Bahamas where he pioneered youth camps and youth leadership development in all islands of the Bahamas and also the Turks and Caicos Islands. Following his work in Youth Ministry, Reg served as the General Secretary to the Bahamas Conference of the Methodist Church for 15 years. He continued this work as Dean of Adult Education at Queen’s College, a Methodist school in Nassau, until his retirement.
Reg worked for many years in the juvenile justice programme in The Bahamas; his studies in Liberation Theology has grounded his life and ministry. He has mentored, coached and prepared scores of young men and women for leadership both in the church and in the country and led youth leadership experiences and training programmes for many decades. He is also a Justice of the Peace and Marriage Officer for the Commonwealth of The Bahamas. In fact, officiating at Wedding Ceremonies is one of his most enjoyable forms of work. In contrast, his ministry in areas of death and dying and grief recovery continue to be central to his work.
Reg met founders of the Spiritual Science Fellowship (SSF) and The Integral International Institute Of Humman Sciences (IIIHS) Dr. Marilyn Rossner and Father John in the late 1980’s and is a regular presence at the annual conferences in Montreal, Canada.
